Such Character

Terms of Use

Last updated: 6 November 2026

Such Character is operated by IHAA Pte. Ltd., a company registered in Singapore (UEN 202538943G) (“we”, “us”, “our”). These terms apply when you use suchcharacter.com (and its subdomains) or order from us. By placing an order, or by using the site to generate a preview, you agree to them.

Our separate Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data.

1. Who this is for

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the involvement of a parent or guardian, to place an order. You confirm you have the legal capacity to enter into these terms when you order.

2. What we make

We create fine art pet portraits from a photograph you supply. The portrait is generated using artificial intelligence and then, if you order a print, produced as a physical piece.

We disclose this openly because it is material to what you are buying: your portrait is generated by an AI model working from your photograph. It is not painted, drawn or photographed by a human artist. Anyone who tells you the distinction does not matter is selling you something else.

3. Orders and approval

  1. You upload a photograph and choose a style.
  2. We generate a watermarked rendition for you to review.
  3. Nothing is printed and nothing is charged until you approve a rendition.
  4. Once you approve and pay, we produce your order.

Approval is the point of no return for physical prints. Every print is made to order for a single customer, so we cannot resell or restock a piece you change your mind about.

4. Prices, payment and delivery

  • Prices are shown in your local currency: Singapore dollars in Singapore, and US, Australian, Canadian or New Zealand dollars, pounds or euros elsewhere. They include tax and delivery to the country your order ships to, unless we say otherwise at checkout.
  • Payment is taken through Stripe, including PayNow where offered. We never see or store your card or bank details.
  • In Singapore, canvases are printed and delivered by our local printer. Production takes about two working days, and delivery a further two to three working days.
  • In the United States, Australia, Canada and New Zealand, canvases are printed by our print partner, usually in your own country. Delivery usually takes 7 to 10 working days from the day you pay (8 to 12 in the United States).
  • Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. We are not liable for delays caused by our printers or couriers, but we will chase them for you.
  • Customs and import charges. We don't expect any, because canvases are usually printed in the country they're delivered to. If you're ever charged one on delivery, send us the receipt and we'll pay it back.
  • We deliver canvases to street addresses in Singapore, the United States, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. We can't deliver canvases to PO boxes or parcel lockers.
  • Digital products are delivered by email, download link or WhatsApp, anywhere in the world. Some are sent automatically once payment is confirmed. Others are checked by us first and sent within one working day.

5. Your photograph

When you upload a photograph you confirm that:

  • you own it, or have the permission of whoever does;
  • you have the right to let us use it as described here;
  • it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

This matters more than it sounds. Photographs taken by a professional pet photographer are owned by that photographer, not by the pet’s owner, and uploading one without permission puts you in breach of these terms.

You grant us a licence to use your photograph solely to produce your portrait and to fulfil your order. We do not sell it, license it to anyone else, or use it to train AI models.

You remain the owner of your photograph. Nothing here changes that.

6. Your portrait

What you get. On payment you receive the portrait files you ordered, and you may use them for any personal purpose without further permission from us: print them, hang them, frame them, put them on your phone, post them, give them as gifts.

Commercial use — selling the portrait, putting it on merchandise for sale, or licensing it to a third party — requires our written permission first. Ask us; we will usually say yes.

Exclusivity. We will not sell or supply your portrait to anyone else.

Copyright, honestly stated. Copyright in AI-generated images is unsettled in Singapore and in most other jurisdictions, because copyright generally requires a human author. We therefore make no representation or warranty that copyright subsists in your portrait, or that we own any copyright capable of being transferred to you. What we give you is set out above: the files, the freedom to use them personally, and our undertaking not to supply them to anyone else. If you need enforceable exclusive rights in an image, an AI-generated portrait may not be the right product for you, and we would rather tell you that before you buy than after.

7. How your portrait may appear in our marketing

We would like to show your portrait in our portfolio, on our website and on social media, and to use it in advertising.

You can decline. Email us at serene@ihaa.co at any time, before or after your order, and we will not use it — or will remove it if it is already published. You do not need to give a reason and it will not affect your order or your price.

We never publish your name, your address or your original photograph without asking you separately.

8. What we do not promise

  • Likeness. AI output varies. We show you a rendition before you pay precisely so you can judge the likeness yourself. If it does not look like your pet, do not approve it — generate another, or walk away without paying.
  • Colour. Screens are backlit and prints are not. Our printer converts files to CMYK for press and colour will shift slightly between what you see on your screen and what arrives on your wall. We calibrate to keep this small, but we cannot guarantee an exact match, and no printer honestly can.
  • Photo quality. A blurry, dark, heavily filtered or very low-resolution photograph produces a worse portrait. We will tell you if we think your photograph is not good enough.

9. Refunds, damage and cancellation

Digital products are non-refundable once delivered, because they cannot be returned. You approve a rendition before paying, so you have already seen what you are buying.

Gifts. A gift is store credit for the item the buyer chose, valid for 12 months from the day it was bought. Gifts cannot be refunded for cash, and any credit left on a gift stays on it until it expires. The person who receives a gift can redeem it as it is, or pick something else and pay the difference. A canvas gift is bought for delivery in one country (Singapore, the United States, Australia, Canada or New Zealand) and can be redeemed for delivery there. If the person you gave it to has moved, contact us. If we print canvases in their new country, we'll move the gift there at no cost. If we don't, they can swap it for the print-ready file and the Main Character Kit, or keep the gift until it expires. Digital gifts can be redeemed anywhere in the world.

Prints are made to order and personalised, so we cannot accept returns for change of mind.

We will reprint your piece free of charge, wherever you are, if:

  • your piece arrives damaged;
  • your piece is materially different from the rendition you approved;
  • there is a manufacturing defect.

Tell us within 7 days of delivery and send clear photographs of the problem and the packaging. We will arrange a free reprint. You don't need to send the damaged piece back. If a reprint can't put it right, we will refund you.

Before production begins you may cancel for a full refund. Email us as soon as possible; once the printer has started, the piece exists and we cannot unmake it.

10. Things you may not upload

No photographs that are unlawful, that infringe someone else’s rights, that depict animal cruelty, or that contain identifiable people who have not agreed to it. We may refuse or cancel any order at our discretion and will refund you in full if we do.

11. Third-party services

We use third parties to run Such Character, and your order depends on them working:

  • Stripe for payment processing, including PayNow. Your payment details go to Stripe directly; we never receive or store them.
  • Our print partner to produce and dispatch physical pieces.
  • Magnific, our AI image generation platform, to produce the portrait itself from your photograph. Magnific in turn routes generation through third-party AI models (including Google’s image model) under its own agreements with them.
  • WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta) if you choose to receive files or updates over WhatsApp.

Each of these operates under its own terms, which we do not control. We are not responsible for their failures, outages or changes, though we will do what we reasonably can to work around them and keep your order moving.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Otherwise, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of data, loss of the original photograph you uploaded (keep your own copy), or loss arising from a third-party service listed in clause 11 being unavailable.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss, damage or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising from: your breach of these terms; your upload of a photograph you did not have the right to use; or your use of a portrait in a way not permitted by clause 6. This does not apply to the extent the claim arises from our own breach of these terms or negligence.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time — to reflect a new product, a change in how we work with a supplier, or a change in the law. The version that applies to your order is the version published when you placed it. Where we make a material change that affects orders already placed but not yet fulfilled, we will contact you directly before proceeding. We will post the “last updated” date at the top of this page whenever it changes; check back periodically if you want to stay current.

15. General

These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the Singapore courts have exclusive jurisdiction.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us for your order.
